Nancy's my Boat

|
|||
LYRICS:
Nancy’s my boat and she loves to float on the shiny sea
Nancy’s my boat and she is good friendly company
Sturdy and green, she’s small but she’s mean I’ve not seen her fail
She’s a beautiful sight, when the sun it shines bright and the wind’s in her sail
And the sea so blue
With the waves so high
And the sun shines bright
In the summer sky
I’ve known this place since I was a girl
We’re going to sail round the island and see Granny Pearl….see Granny Pearl

Seagulls Love Chips!
02:33
|
|||
LYRICS:
Have you ever seen a seagull dive into the sea?
Silver arrows 'neath the waves catching fish for tea
Quick as a flash, they gulp them down, one two three
then home to perch upon the pier still hungry as can be
Then Sally comes along to eat some chips beside the shore
she manages to eat a few, two or three or four
Suddenly a seagull Sally hears above her 'Caaaw'
The seagull whips her chips and they're not Sally's any more
CHORUS:
Seagulls love chips!
You can see them licking their lips
Seagulls and fried potata?
Out your hand and see ya later!
Seagulls love chips
You can see them licking their lips
Seagulls and fried potata?
Out your hand and see ya later!
Underestimate a seagull, you are bound to fail
They cannot hide their greedy side, the belly of a whale
So whether you are on the land or letting down your sail
'keep your wits and keep your chips' is the moral of the tale
CHORUS:
Seagulls love chips
You can see them licking their lips
Seagulls and fried potata?
Out your hand and see ya later!
Seagulls love chips
You can see them licking their lips
Seagulls and fried potata?
Out your hand and see ya later!

LYRICS:
I'm the giant squid, I'm a very happy fella
since the day I found me lucky umbrella
It begins with Um and ends in ella!
It's me lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky umbrella
“So how did you find your lucky umbrella?!” I hear you ask in adoration and astonishment! Well I’ll tell you…
One day I was swimming in the deep blue sea
Wondering at what I should have for tea
When suddenly I spy with me giant squid eye
A jolly little brolly oh a diddly dum dee dye
I'm the giant squid I'm a very happy fella
since the day I found me lucky umbrella
It begins with Um and ends in ella!
It's me lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky umbrella
“But what was it doing there?!”, I hear you cry in bewilderment and bafflement?
Well, I'll tell you….
I saw it on a wreck with a very bony fella
it didn't seem to him to be a lucky umbrella
He had fallen from the deck and with my tentacle
I took the brolley and an arm, he didn't mind at all.
I'm the giant squid, I'm a very happy fella
since the day I found me lucky umbrella
It begins with Um and ends in ella!
It's me lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky umbrella
“So how is it lucky?!” I hear you ask in eagerness and excitement??
Well...
Since I have come into the possession of this umbrella
I have never been rained on, never set fire to myself, or drowned
I have swum with dolphins, done a TED talk, and met you!
I'm the giant squid, I'm a very happy fella
since the day I found me lucky umbrella
It begins with Um and ends in ella!
It's me lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky umbrella!
So , how can I help you today, are you looking for something? The umbrella is mine but I think I have some delicious fish bones somewhere. Wonderful in stews on those summer evenings round a campfire…. I imagine. Oh I know who you’re looking for, Pearl! I saw her only this morning. She was getting ready for the Mermaid Ball. Are you coming? It’s happening in about 5 minutes. And I don’t know which hat to wear. This one is rather casual and the Titanic is sooo heavy. It’s so hard to dance a waltz when one is weighed down by an ocean liner. Not to worry, for I have my lucky umbrella. I’m sure something will turn up. See you at the ball!
I'm the giant squid I'm a very happy fella
since the day I found me lucky umbrella
It begins with Um and ends in ella!
It's me lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky....
I'm the giant squid I'm a very happy fella
since the day I found me lucky umbrella
It begins with Um and ends in ella!
It's me lucky lucky lucky lucky lucky umbrella!

Granny Pearl

LYRICS:
Oh the wind, it was billowing into the sail of our little green boat it was
Beautiful, out on our trip, round the island and we were there just because
We’d gone, out on our holiday, oh what a jolly day, down by the sea
We were there all together, mum, dad, sister Heather, granny and me
And the sun, was shining down upon the beautiful ocean rising and falling so
Big and blue stretched just as far as you could see before it met with the blue sky and I
Looked round at all the family, saw just how happily Grandmother Pearl was
Dreaming, there in her wheelchair, the wind in her long hair a young girl again….. But then
Suddenly, she whips off her coat, and dives off the side of the boat,
“Grandma!” I cried, but she called back oh don’t be afraid
For sure as the wind was there in that sail I caught a glimpse of her shiny tail
On the day I found out my Granny Pearl was a mermaid
She was a mermaid….
So a mermaid was she and apparently, every year she returned to the open sea
For she had her relations to find, all of the family she’d left behind
When she’d followed, her heart to the shore,
Fisherman Jim had been her reason for leaving,
They’d met by the sand, from his wreck on the rocks, he’d asked for her hand…
And I learned the truth about Granny that day, watching her dive off that boat and then swim away
Through the waves she went, over and under them,
Splashing, crashing her way through the water and
I thought, this explains a lot
The excessive bathing in baths full of salt,
And the seaview hotels, a beachcomber was she,
her skin was pure oil, her aroma fishy….
And as she dived, she called back to me,
Now you know why I live for the sea
And when I die, in the ocean I want to be laid
For sure as the wind was there in that sail,
I caught a glimpse of her shiny tail
on the day I found out my Granny Pearl was a mermaid

Granny Pearl lives right by the ocean
She looks great for a hundred and three
It isn't her diet or good peace and quiet
but a swim every day in the sea!
And as we sail to the island,
the gulls fly high the waves whirl,
It's a magical feeling, we're going to see Granny Pearl!
See Granny Pearl!
